President, the 1909 steam narrow boat, and Kildare are owned by the Black Country Living Museum and is assisted in
maintaining and operating the boats by the “Friends of President”.
The boats tour the waterways during the summer months promoting both the museum and the waterways.

Steam on the Canal
President was built in 1909 at a cost of £600 in Fellows, Morton and Clayton’s company dock at Saltley, Birmingham. Registered on 23rd June and serving on FMC’s non stop “Fly” runs to London.
Friends of President
President and Kildare are owned by the Black Country Living Museum, but rely on a group of volunteers, “Friends of President’ to care for and operate the boats. Find out more about “FOP” and how to contribute.
