It has been many years since the original restoration in the 1970′s – in fact many more than in President’s steam working days. President’s age was showing and an extensive refit was needed. These pages follow the story of the planning and execution of the re-building process that started in 2000. There are articles from 195 ( the FoP journal ), ‘Steaming Up’ the newsletter and photographic reports of many of the working parties.

The story continues with ongoing maintenance and refurbishment.
